Farmland Pork Master’s Prime Collection Giveaway

This is the Pork Master’s Prime Collection package from Farmland Foods and it’s billed as “pork cuts specially chosen for the meat lover.” It includes 8 pork wings, 4 jalapeno cheddar brats, 2 extra thick cut pork chops, and a package of steak seasoned thick cut bacon. Prime Collection ContentsThis past weekend BeeBop and I tried out the pork wings and the bacon from our package. Now, I’m not exactly sure what a “pork wing” is, but the best I can tell it’s the end of a very meaty pork rib. They were fully cooked so all I had to do was pop them in the oven while I made up Farmland’s recommended Raspberry Stout BBQ sauce to go along with them. They were excellent! The next morning, we enjoyed the steak seasoned bacon with breakfast and were equally impressed with the results. We haven’t gotten around to the pork chops and brats yet, but judging by what we’ve tried already, those will be treats as well.

In case you’re wondering, Farmland is a subsidiary of Smithfield. I already trusted Smithfield to provide great pork products so saying yes to reviewing this package was easy.

    I love just about everything on the grill. Pork chops take on a delicious flavor from cooking on the grill if there is a little fat on them and it gets really grilled.

    I’d love the chance to check out those pork wings. Interesting.

    I have been using Farmland products for over 5 year A representative called me and asked me to talk to Giant Eagle in my area to get them to handle there products I did and now they do. I just made cabbage and piergoes with Farmland bacon The small cubes of ham are nice to put in freezer and taken out what you need for a omelet.

    I love marinating chops or chicken breast, or thighs in Ken’s Greek Dressing. Leave them in marinade for 24-48 hrs. then grill. The meat practically melts in your mouth. Also if you have any leftovers, they are a great addition to your favorite salad!!! Try it!!!

    My choices are RIBS and shoulder on the smoker, STEAKS on the grill.
    Recently discovered sirloin tip prime cuts at Costco. These are as flavorful as any steaks I have had, quick to freeze, they are free of any excess fat and they are quick to grill(5-7 min). These are the most all around efficient steaks.

    Pork loin or pork ribs that have been soaked overnight in a black peppercorn marinade…..awesome!

    We love to put a picnic ham, glazed with a
    Mustard/maple syrup melange, on our Primo
    Smoker grill. Oh, the spicy-sweet crust on the
    Juicy ham is heavenly!!

    My favorite thing to grill is bratwurst. My second would be a toss-up between ribs and chicken. I’ve never heard of pork ribs, but they sound interesting!

    My very favorite thing to BBQ is mu secret marinated BBQ chicken recipe; but another favorite is a pork shoulder roast brined in a sugar/whiskey soak for three days. Heavenly!

    I like to brine nice thick pork chops and sear them on my infrared gas grill, smothering them with barbeque sauce when finished.

    I love sausages with a kick, cooked on the grill.Then placed on a grilled toasted bun with spicey Kansas City style barbecue sauce.

    I don’t do the grilling, my son does it. He gets a 10# trimmed pork loin roast from Sam’s Club, covers it with a rub (he makes his own rub), wraps it with plastic wrap and refrigerates it for about an hour and a half. Then he grills it to perfection. The first time he made it since I’m here I wasn’t very anxious to try it. I was afraid it would be dry and tough. Boy, was I wrong; this roast is amazing. It is so moist and tender I couldn’t believe it.

    I love to put country style ribs and a boston butt on the grill, especially this time of the year. These two are family favorites and you can feed a crowd!! And of course Smithfield meats are the BEST!

    I love to season Pork Chops 1/2 in thick with my own rub. Let them sit overnight in the frig. Put them on a Hot Grill for about five minutes on each side. Then take them off and rap in Aluminum foil and let them cook until they are tender and juicy. There’s nothing better than good pork chops.

    MY absolutely favorite thin is a standing rib roast. Done to 180 with a thermometer Ismack a bit of salt and pepper on it and rock n’ roll!

    I DON’T have a grill live in apartment…………………. BUT I do have my Lodge reversible griddle/grill, the best thing in the world to cook on. Nothing like thick cut bacon on the flat side or some grilled pork chops. Throw a few veggies on the grill and you have a feast!

    I have to admit I am very interested in the “wings”!

    Here in the South we love to grill anything Pork mostly ribs fresh pork country ribs – sausages-pork chops -italian sausages-pork steaks-baby back ribs-and we baste them with thick sweet honey barbaque sauce

    My favorite on the grill is chicken with a vinegar based BBQ sauce that I make. I use it in NC even though it has been called Tenessee BBQ sauce. It makes my mouth water right now. I have used it too on pork ribs and it is second only to the chicken!

    We love anything that is cooked on the grill but I would guess that are more often grilled treats are brats or skin on wieners with steaks or pork chops being grilled for special occasions.

    My favorite thing to put on the grill? That’s a tough one – we LOVE to grill our meat, many veggies and even some fruits. Hmmm … would I be disqualified if I say my favorite thing on the grill are Hatch green chilies? MMMMmmmmm ….. (Of course, after they’re roasted & peeled those green chilies would be fantastic laid across some pork chops on the grill!)

    Since this is an article and a giveaway about pork I’ll talk about MY favorite pork item on the grill. When it comes to pork there is no doubt what my favorite item would be, of course it has to be Baby Back Ribs. I just LOVE ribs and prefer at least part of their preparation to be on the grill. Now I have a brother, both of us all grown up of course and that boy (I still call him a boy since he’s my “baby” brother), just goes BONKERS for pork chops on the grill. Personally I never really think about pork chops and a grill together but they’re not too darn bad. Let’s face it, just about ANYTHING taste better when it’s had at least part of it’s prep on a grill.

    WHAT in the heck are pork wings? I’m usually pretty much up to date when it comes to the latest food trend but “pork wings” are a new one on me. What are they?

    After soaking some large skewers I wrap big ole shrimp in bacon. and then thread onto skewers. I usually precook the bacon a bit so the shrimp can be done around the same time as the bacon. Glaze with fav sauce..I like a brandy bbq one by Williams Sonoma. Think this bacon/shrimp recipe came out in the 70s and it is still great to this day.

    Do you remember when Flo said “When Pigs Fly”? Well that’s where pork wings come from–flying pigs!!! I still like to do marinated pork tenderloins cause they don’t get dry if you don’t know what you’re doing. I will try grilling just about anything ONCE.

    Steak, ribs, salmon–they are all delicious on the grill. My very favorite, though, is my mom’s barbecued chicken–she cooks it in a vinegar based sauce before grilling, and it is the best!

    My favorite thing to put on the grill is corn of the cob. Iput it on as is, turn it frequently until it is chared pretty much all over

    I really enjoy grilling pork steak. And then with aluminum side packets of corn on the cob and cubed red potatoes in seasonings and a tossed green salad on the side. So easy and very tasty. The only way to cook during the hot summertime!

    I love to grill pork tenderloins. They don’t take long to grill, you can use any marinade you want, and, you don’t have to pay an arm and a leg to serve many guests! We love pork!

    Love to do pork chops and anything cooked in a tin foil pouch…yum Really love huge onions stuffed with bacon and cheese. Also baked potatoes sliced almost thru( sideways) with bacon , butter and cheese in between. Sounds like I am addicted to bacon and cheese!!!! So be it…lol Never tasted anything bad on the grill. Use your imagination!!!

    I like to use the rotisserie on my grill to make a pork roast, I use a special rub and have a drip pan underneath and when roast has about a half hour more to go I add green beans with sliced onions and garlic to the drip pan, stir and warm them up, mmmmm, delish!!!!

    I marinate slightly mallet-ed chicken breasts in teriyaki and pineapple juice. I make more than enough for one meal with the rest added to the top of a nice salad the next day.

    The last thing I grilled was a little over a week ago and it was brats wrapped with bacon. I used toothpicks to hold the bacon in place. They were wonderful.

    Korean bbq (with foil protection) is nice on the grill. Mostly chicken thighs (boneless) is grilled. Hamburger hotdogs (burger patty shaped like a hotdog) seems nice.
