Ingredients
For the Brownie Layer:
brownie mixrecommend: Duncan Hines Milk Chocolate 13x9 Family Size
water, eggs, and oil as needed for the brownie mix
For the Topping:
1cupbrown sugar
2large eggs
1teaspoonvanilla extract
½teaspoonsalt
¼cupmelted butter
3cupschopped pecans
Instructions
Preheat the oven according to the instructions for baking the brownie mix in a 13x9 pan.
Grease a 13x9 pan with cooking spray or butter.
Prepare and bake the brownie mix according to the package instructions.

While the brownies bake, prepare the topping. Whisk together the brown sugar, eggs, vanilla, salt, and melted butter until everything is well combined and the sugar is dissolved.
1 cup brown sugar, 2 large eggs, 1 teaspoon vanilla extract, ½ teaspoon salt, ¼ cup melted butter
Stir in the pecans and set aside.

At the end of the baking time for the brownies, remove the pan from the oven and spread the topping mixture evenly over the warm brownies.
Return the pan to the oven and bake until the topping is set – about 25 minutes. Remove from the oven and cool completely before slicing.
Notes
Note: the eggs and oil needed for the brownie mix are not included in the nutrition calculation.
Store in an airtight container at room temperature for up to 3 days. Refrigerate for up to a week or freeze for several months. Be sure to separate layers with parchment paper to prevent sticking.
