This delicious Apple-Pear Compote features two favorite autumn fruits. Enjoy it as served over granola with a dollop of Greek yogurt as an alternative to oatmeal.

Ingredients
2large cooking applespeeled and cored
2pearspeeled and cored
2tablespoonssugar
1cinnamon stickor 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
2tablespoonswater
¼cupraisins
2cupsgranola
½cupGreek yogurt
½cupmilk or cream
Instructions
Cut the apples and pears into similar sized chunks. Place them, along with the sugar, cinnamon, and water in a heavy bottomed sauce pan.
2 large cooking apples, 2 pears, 2 tablespoons sugar, 1 cinnamon stick, 2 tablespoons water
Bring to a boil, then reduce the heat to a simmer and cook 15-20 minutes or until the pears and apples are soft. Stir frequently during the cooking time.
About halfway through cooking stir in the raisins.
¼ cup raisins
Divide the granola among 4 bowls and top each bowl with 2 tablespoons Greek yogurt and 1/4 of the pear-apple compote. Drizzle 2 tablespoons milk or cream around the edges of each bowl. Serve warm.
Notes
May be made in advance and stored, tightly covered, in the refrigerator for up to 4 days. Reheat over low heat or in the microwave.
If the compote seems too runny, thicken it with cornstarch dissolved in a little water. Stir the mixture into the hot fruit mixture and cook for 1 minute.
