Giving Thanks

Tomorrow is the big day. My favorite holiday of the year. The table is set. The turkey is almost ready for the oven. The side dishes are planned and partly prepped. The desserts all prepared. During the Thanksgiving season, I usually write a post with a long list of recipes that you might like to include in your Thanksgiving menu. This year, however, I felt like I wanted to do something just a bit different.

I woke up this morning thinking about this. About all the things I’m thankful for. I could hear the wind howling outside and the sleet pelting the windows and I was thankful to have a safe, secure, warm home. So many people don’t have that. God bless them.

I have a wonderful husband who loves me deeply despite my many faults. So many people don’t have that. God bless them.

I have a daughter who is kind and thoughtful. Who is working her fingers to the bone to complete her education and of whom I’m so proud. So many people don’t have that. God bless them.

I have two healthy, bright, intelligent, caring, and hilariously funny grandchildren. So many people don’t have that. God bless them.

I have a mother who is encouraging, generous, and nurturing and who takes care of so many others. So many people don’t have that. God bless them.

I am still blessed to have my grandmother alive and well and as bright as she was 50 years ago. So many people don’t have that. God bless them.

My husband and I both have jobs that pay us well for our work. So many people don’t have that. God bless them.

I have more than plenty for my table for tomorrow. So many people don’t have that. God bless them.

I have good health and am looking forward to retirement at the end of next year. So many people don’t have that. God bless them.

And last, but by no means least, I have the best, most supportive, loyal blog readers anyone could ask for. So many people don’t have that. God bless them.

From our home to yours – a sincere wish for a most Happy Thanksgiving!

Lana
