Cappuccino Yogurt Tiramisu – an easy “tiramisu” recipe using cappuccino yogurt in place of the classic mascarpone.

Yes, I’m calling this “tiramisu.” No, this is not an authentic recipe. Yes, it is delicious. No, I’m not Italian nor have I seriously studied Italian cuisine. Now that we’ve gotten that out of the way, I’d like to present a delicious, easy recipe for Cappuccino Yogurt Tiramisu.

There are some really delicious and luxurious flavored yogurts on the market these days and one of my favorites in the cappuccino flavor in the Liberté brand. So, when I was asked to develop a dessert recipe using that flavor, of course the first thing I thought of was tiramisu.

In this recipe, I substitute creamy, rich, cappuccino flavored yogurt in place of the traditionally used mascarpone. And being of a Southern mindset, I naturally threw in some toasted pecans.

There’s little to no cooking involved in this recipe (always a plus in the summer months) and it is certainly elegant enough to serve as the finale for your next dinner party. BeeBop gave it two thumbs up and he doesn’t even like coffee.

How to Make Cappuccino Yogurt Tiramisu

Toast the pecan halves in a 350 degree preheated oven until lightly browned. Remember they toast very quickly, so as soon as you smell them, remove them from the oven. Let the pecans cool before proceeding with the recipe.

Whip the cream and sugar until fairly stiff. Now you can begin assembling the tiramisu.

Adding coffee to ladyfingers.

The package of ladyfingers will contain two long layers each split in half. Place the bottom half of a layer of ladyfingers on a small serving dish. Spoon over two tablespoons of coffee.

Toasted pecans added to ladyfingers.

Top with half of the toasted pecans.

Second layer of ladyfingers added on top of toasted pecans.
