A selection of thoroughly patriotic recipes to add a little red, white, and blue to your Memorial Day festivities
Warm weather is finally here! I'm so enjoying my favorite seasons - spring and summer - and the lovely warmth they bring to our part of the country.
Did I say "warm?" Maybe I meant hot! This weekend is supposed to break records for high temperatures. It's predicted to be in the mid-90s around here.
But, that's okay with me after all the cold and wet we've had since last fall. Starting with a devastating hurricane that almost obliterated both mine and BeeBop's hometowns. Hurricane Michael did a number on the gulf coast and all the way inland through south Georgia. Unless you see it in person, you just can't believe the destruction that storm poured out. It was horrible and incredible and shocking.
But recovery is progressing as it always does. People band together to do what needs to be done after disasters and slowly life is getting back to normal for our little hometowns and their residents. I hope they can all take a break from the continual cleanup and recovery and enjoy this Memorial Day weekend.
I've already shared a great Memorial Day recipe with you but I wanted to put together this roundup of recipes from other bloggers in case you needed something for your grilling menu. This is a fantastic selection of thoroughly patriotic recipes to add a little red, white, and blue to your Memorial Day festivities.
